It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ! For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.

Did Congress Have Hemorrhoids Tuesday Night or What?

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 00:46 4 comments
Is it me or what… was not President Obama’s “sort-of-but-not-State-of-the-Union-Address” flooded with a million standing ovations?

Now I’m not an authority on political matters, but, with all due respect, I didn’t hear anything that constituted one single standing ovation… so my question then is this: could Congress have been infected with an epidemic of hemorrhoids? Up and down, down and up, blah, blah, blah….

Here’s the deal: while Madam Speaker (Pelosi) continually sucked her candy, or whatever it was that was in her mouth, here’s what we got:

President Obama pledged to expand the tentacles of government further into our lives than ever before especially when he said that government will watch over our children "from the day they are born"!

Amidst our President’s charm and charisma, it is vitally important to read between the lines and listen carefully: S-O-C-I-A-L-I-S-M!

Here is a sampling of Obama's outrageous socialistic pledges:
350,000 new government jobs

A new government "lending fund that represents the largest effort ever" to make the government your banker!

A "housing plan" that further disrupts the market and puts government in the middle of the foreclosure and refinance process -- the government will decide your payment and maybe even the value of your home...

Trillions more in bailout funds for the banking industry that will further balloon the unprecedented deficit that could approach $2 trillion this year...

Onerous regulations that give government more and more control over the financial markets...

A new global warming bureaucracy and carbon tax that force us to adopt inefficient "green" energy...

"Comprehensive" health care that further burdens our broken system with more and more health care entitlements..

A massive expansion of government education that covers children "from the day they are born" and includes a guarantee that everyone can afford higher education...

Let’s be clear on this: President Barack Obama is using the current economic conditions to implement the most massive expansion of government in modern American history. He has called this a recession that "we may not be able to reverse" and, in his speech, he called it a "day of reckoning."

His Chief of Staff plainly stated "you never want a serious crisis to go to waste," and that is precisely what this administration is doing! In his first two years in office, federal spending as a percentage of the gross domestic product will double--from 20 percent to nearly 40 percent.

This, my friends, is socialism!

Flashback to a scene from the 1976 movie, “Network”:
[In the movie] Howard Beale is 'Mad as Hell.' Says Beale: “I don't have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It's a depression. Everybody's out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel's worth; banks are going bust; shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter; punks are running wild in the street, and there's nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there's no end to it….”

The above is only a movie; a brilliantly produced screenplay that, ironically, over thirty years later, is pertinent to our present day. For the sake of our children, when are we going to stop being a "sheeple" people? When are we going to stop entrusting our future into the hands of people who don't give a damn? As we openly witness further raping of our country, Obama is flooded with enormous cheers and standing ovations. Capital Hill has transformed itself into the theatre capital of the world - our leaders are simply amatuer thespians who have destroyed our freedom and everything our great nation stands for.

The greatest nation in the world [America] is being annihilated by players who suffer from severe
narcissism. Clearly, Congress has no true solutions and clearly they have an agenda to suit only themselves.

This is not what our forefathers fought so hard for and it is our children who will suffer. This is not a win-win situation. With this present administration we all loose.

Echoing the feelings of the fictitious character,
Howard Beale: I am mad as hell! How dare our leaders play with our America and our lives.

I openly risk my reputation for the sake of righteousness - with prayer must come action and submission to these agendas is against every principle our country was founded on.

In order to save America, we must wake up from our slumber.

God help us, our children and our USA!

Christ Be Our Light

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 10:13 0 comments
As I reflect on these present days of darkness, I draw inspiration from those whose lives were devoted to God. One such person, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, unselfishly lived to seek out those who had been forgotten: the destitute, the diseased and the poorest of the poor.

As a young girl, Mother Teresa felt called to serve as a nun in India. But in 1946, as a woman living and teaching in Calcutta, she felt another call, "a call within a call," to serve and live among Calcutta's most desperate poor.

A home for the dying, an orphanage, a leper colony, various medical centers, and countless homeless shelters sprung up in Calcutta, thanks to her work as part of the Missionaries of Charity. But Mother Teresa's call to the downtrodden would soon transcend Asia, and her diminutive figure would soon become synonymous worldwide with compassion.

Mother Teresa sought out those less fortunate, that they, above all, might be empowered by the love of Jesus Christ.

The following verses reportedly were written on the wall of Mother Teresa's home for children in Calcutta, India, and are widely attributed to her.

Some sources say that the words below were written on the wall in Mother Teresa's own room. In any case, the association of these words with Mother Teresa and the Missionaries of Charity has made them popular worldwide, expressing as they do, the spirit in which they lived their lives.

Do It Anyway!
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 20: GUEST BLOGGER, OMEGA IN CHRISTO

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 21:59 1 comments
Greetings Friends!

Since I've intended this blog to be a "safe-haven" for all Christians to share "life as it happens," I am thrilled to step aside today for guest blogger, Omega In Christo. If anyone else is interested to "guest author" on this blog, feel free to e-mail me at judi@judilake.com. Please be advised that all material is subject for approval.

In the meantime, following are Omega In Christo's thoughts for the day:

Perilous & Opportune Times

Never in the history of civilization and Christianity has any nation been made the reluctant and (agonizingly so) the custodian of the world.

In order to survive, this country now has to be in every festering seedbed of terrorism throughout the world. We are in a bizarre war. It is a type of war that has never been fought before. In our country, the enemy not only flies in our planes with lethal effect but, in foreign lands, infiltrates innocent families and blows themselves up with nightmarish effect.

It is the Jihad of the Moslem world.

What can we do?

Yes, we are sending our men and women in to foreign lands and they are being wounded and dying. We are learning by bitter experience how to fight. Militarily, we are using different weapons that will require us to learn the language, the culture and even the religion of the Arab world, but will we have victory? Is a "democratic" government possible for the Muslim people of the Koran? Will a tenuous peace run by an elected government succeed? With these people, we will have to rebuild the infrastructure to include new roads, schools, hospitals and restored industries.

Will that be enough?

There is an obvious third dimension. If we are believers in the spiritual world, we will have to concede that we are fighting good versus evil. If we are a nation under God with liberty and justice for all -- if we are a nation run by the people, for the people and with the people -- then the spiritual world of this people is ultimately Christian. If we know our history, we will admit that our founding fathers accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We will also admit that this belief allowed other religions and beliefs to live in freedom under the law.

We are now living in electronic glass houses in which the whole world sees our intimate political and moral behavior. The greed, lust and duplicity of our country stand blatantly before the entire world. We are morally and economically on our knees.

Will a trillion dollars be enough?

If we believe that the Holy Spirit is the ultimate strategist of history -- if we believe in the love of the Father -- if we believe that the cross, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the hope of the world, we must change, repent and seek forgiveness.

The mighty Roman Empire died because of corruption, while the blood letting of the Christian martyrs and the holiness of the faithful brought victory. This is not a call for a violent crusade but a conversion for our country. Through the power of the Holy Spirit the Muslim people will see the Spiritual dimensions of our reluctant role as custodian of the world they will then through the grace of God cleans himself or herself from the Jihad.

There is much more to this quest and story...

Uh-Oh, Did Obama "Fib"?

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 22:58 1 comments
Today, Tuesday, February 17, President Obama will sign the Stimu-LIE bill. Apparently the six million page bill (not really, but close…) was posted on the White House website this past Friday but… hey the math just doesn’t add up... Didn’t Obama promise to allow five days of public comments before signing any bill once he became president?

And, didn't he promise there would be no more secrets?

Was there something I didn’t get? Thanks to You Tube, let’s go down memory lane for a moment:

Uh-oh, did Obama "fib"?

Such is the problem with a cult personality that is based on narcissism rather than true solutions…

Again, I suppose, are the consequences of an election.

Which Jesus Do We Follow?

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 12:32 2 comments
I have skimmed through various posts on the Internet that have clearly misunderstood [some] Christians who have chosen to take on an “activist” role within society. Since I can only speak for myself, I would like to share some thoughts on this vulnerable topic.

Within a very short time, I have witnessed an extremely “dysfunctional” society arise within believers. Since the election, I have observed relationships dissolve and hatred spew louder than thunder.

I have heard the term “racist” used more than one calls out for candy.

And I have seen scripture used for convenience.

For those who stand up for Truth many shake their heads in anger while “the accepted” skirt on issues tainted with a “worldly” perspective.

To quote Marvin [Gaye], “What’s goin’ on?”

Recently, I penned an article entitled, “Choosing To Be Politically “In-Correct.” Within it, I wrote,
“…At the very moment I am writing this, I think of the division within our country as well as our new administration. Certainly being “pro-life” immediately alienates me from this new administration…

… In order to bring about a transformation in our nation from “a culture of death to a culture of life,” we must first restore our own personal Christian identities and bravely live our lives in such a way that will bear true witness to what we profess to believe in and live by.

We must be conscious that the moral framework of our beliefs hardly ever fit the ideologies of any political party. Our values are often not "politically correct" but, as true believers, it is not only our right, but our responsibility to speak out on moral issues that go against our God’s teachings….”
To my surprise, I've received a tremendous amount of affirming e-mails from, of all places, the middle east. The wonder of the Internet is amazing: with a click of a button, the world immediately becomes your audience!

Is there a “motive” in my writing? No, I pen personal thoughts mainly to purge my own soul. If there are responses or not, it is not within my control. I have never written to convince anyone of anything.

I am, however, called more and more to speak against what is unacceptable to Truth. To assume that a Christian is to remain silent is absurd. Amidst our “anything goes society” there is an extremely thin line between what is deemed right and wrong and I believe it is important, especially in these days, for Christians to take a stand after all…

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

In other words, within Christianity there are no “greys.” If we do not speak up, then we are accomplices that make us just as guilty as the guilty.

To think the division we are experiencing is limited to politics is naïve. Jesus clearly speaks to us when He says, "Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division." (Luke 12:51).

Before Holy Communion, Catholics pray, "Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles: I leave you peace, my peace I give you." So when we read, "Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division," we know that Jesus is making reference to what is called a “false” peace, one in which relationships are not harmonious. Jesus will have nothing to do with such unions -- He will split them apart out of love and for the sake of truth.

In another article, I had written, “…The human condition that we are steeped in is ambiguous. Choices, at times, have to be made that in fact cause division and pain. We need but note the work of the following Christians: Dietrich Bonhoeffer, involved in a plot to assassinate Hitler; Martin Luther King, Jr., in his ministry to secure human rights; Thomas Merton in his stand against nuclear war; Dorothy Day, who fought against the status quo that kept so many in radical poverty. All of them came to bring not peace, but division. These disciples of Christ fought for the big peace, the Kingdom of God.

God's word is a two-edged sword. God's word admonishes us in our sin; God's word consoles us in our desolation. God's Word -- Jesus -- is the divine instrument bringing us to life, even if, momentarily, our peace is disturbed. When Jesus looked across the night fire into Peter's eyes, we can feel the division of that glance. Unlike Judas who saw only his betrayal of Jesus, Peter saw within that gaze the eyes of compassion and forgiveness….”

I conclude with my opening question: “Which Jesus do we follow?”

What Does "Your" America Stand For?

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 13:22 0 comments

Is this the “change” that America wanted? Is this now the true spirit of our America?

Say it isn’t so, Joe…

A frightened, desperate people did not create our America -- brave, freedom-thinking heroes founded our country.

Afterall,
frightened people don’t think,

and,

frightened people will concede hard fought liberties for “an illusion of security.”

Is this what we envisioned for our children to inherit? Apathy? Fear? Lack of freedom?

What does your America stand for?

Since America is supposed to be a “We The People” government, do we really know what that means?

mmm… Let’s make it easy…

According to the Citizenship and Immigration Services website the following is stated:
Q: What does "We the People" mean in the Constitution?

A:
The power of government comes from the people.
[Let me repeat that:
"The power of government comes from the people."]

So I have to ask America, What does “We the People” mean to you?

Especially pertinent today is Thomas Jefferson’s warning, “To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.” Jefferson added, “We must make our election between economy and liberty…or profusion and servitude.”

A little too late for that, I’d say, but here’s the thing: our apathy has allowed us, as a nation, to commit child abuse on an unimaginable scale because we’ve allowed our children to inherit America’s mess.

Isn’t it supposed to be our job to protect our children?

Nationalized Health Care Buried Deep Within Stimu-“LIE”

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 14:32 2 comments
Senate passes $838 billion 'stimulus' bill but…
Is getting “Old” is no longer an option in America?

Following is a Commentary by Betsy McCaughey from bloomberg.com:

Ruin Your Health With the Obama Stimulus Plan: Betsy McCaughey

Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Republican Senators are questioning whether President Barack Obama’s stimulus bill contains the right mix of tax breaks and cash infusions to jump-start the economy.

Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions
reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.
Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.”
According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”
Keeping doctors informed of the newest medical findings is important, but enforcing uniformity goes too far.

New Penalties
Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time” (511, 518, 540-541)

What penalties will deter your doctor from going beyond the electronically delivered protocols when your condition is atypical or you need an experimental treatment? The vagueness is intentional. In his book, Daschle proposed an appointed body with vast powers to make the “tough” de
cisions elected politicians won’t make.

The stimulus bill does that, and calls it the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (190-192). The goal, Daschle’s book explained, is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are driving up costs. He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.

Elderly Hardest Hit
Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt. (Read more)

Say No To Obama's Stimulus Package

Contact Your Senators in Opposition to the Senate "Stimulus" Package Today

Please tell your elected officials to oppose the $825 billion 'American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009', commonly known as the stimulus bill, now making its way through Congress. This legislation is packed with pork, supports groups such as ACORN and will increase the national deficit to more than $2 trillion dollars which future generations will have to repay.

We must stop it in the Senate.

The Heritage Foundation has listed several top disastrous highlights:
1. Medicaid bailout - $87 billion for states
2. Medicaid expansion - expands eligibility to anyone whose income is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Line
3. Family Planning Loophole - This section undercuts parental authority, increases control over taxpayer dollars by family planning clinics, and expands exactly who is eligible to receive the benefits.
4. Education Bailout - $79 billion added to education, none of which may be used for school choice.
5. Education Shopping Spree - additional billions for various areas of education which will bring the total spent in this are to over $142 billion.

The following video, How Much Is $1 Trillion?, courtesy of You Tube:

What else does this bill contain? Here are a few examples from the San Francisco Chronicle. You may see many more at the Chronicle website.
$200 million to rehabilitate the National Mall
$276 million to fix the computer systems at the State Department
$650 million to repair dilapidated Forest Service facilities
$50 million outlay for the National Endowment for the Arts

This so-called stimulus will come from borrowed funds - funds that must be repaid by future generations of hard working Americans.

Is this what we want our children to inherit?

Obama's Justice Department Nominees Against Family Values

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 07:52 0 comments
SUMMARY by CitizenLink editor, Jennifer Mesko:

Appointees represent 'everything the pro-family movement has fought against.'

President Barack Obama claims he wants a "post-partisan" administration, but his actions are drowning out his words.

Three of his Justice Department nominees have horrific records on pro-family issues.

"The one thing Barack Obama's nominees to the Department of Justice seem to have in common is a disrespect for human life," said Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America.

David Ogden, nominated to serve as deputy attorney general, has built a profitable career opposing the laws he now would be expected to enforce --- including obscenity laws.

Thomas Perrelli, Obama's nominee to serve as associate attorney general, represented Terri Schiavo's husband as he fought to have food and water withheld from his disabled wife.

And Dawn Johnsen, who also hopes to serve as assistant attorney general, is the former legal director for NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Patrick Trueman, former chief of the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section of the Justice Department, said the three nominations spell trouble for the pro-family movement.

"Appointments to the Department of Justice, more than to any other department, reflect a president's moral agenda," he told CitizenLink. "You can see from a president's appointment to high positions in the Department of Justice where they stand.

"Obama is appointing people to run the Department of Justice, to interpret the laws of our nation, to carry out the laws of our nation, who will fight fiercely against the pro-family movement."

Ogden, who is set to go before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, opposes common-sense restrictions on abortion, including parental-notification laws.

He also opposes restrictions on pornography and believes adults have a constitutional right to view pornography at public libraries. Ogden has represented Playboy in court.

"He's everything the pro-family movement has fought against," Trueman said, "yet as deputy attorney general, he will be the chief executive officer of the U.S. Department of Justice."

Two's The Limit Says "Green Guru"

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 23:08 3 comments
From From The Sunday Times, February 1, 2009:

Two children should be limit, says green guru
Sarah-Kate Templeton, Health Editor

COUPLES who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment, the government’s green adviser has warned.

Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.

A report by the commission, to be published next month, will say that governments must reduce population growth through better family planning.

“I am unapologetic about asking people to connect up their own responsibility for their total environmental footprint and how they decide to procreate and how many children they think are appropriate,” Porritt said.

“I think we will work our way towards a position that says that having more than two children is irresponsible. It is the ghost at the table. We have all these big issues that everybody is looking at and then you don’t really hear anyone say the “p” word.”

The Optimum Population Trust, a campaign group of which Porritt is a patron, says each baby born in Britain will, during his or her lifetime, burn carbon roughly equivalent to 2½ acres of old-growth oak woodland - an area the size of Trafalgar Square.

The British population, now 61m, will pass 70m by 2028, the Office for National Statistics says. The fertility rate for women born outside Britain is estimated to be 2.5, compared with 1.7 for those born here. The global population of 6.7 billion is expected to rise to 9.2 billion by 2050.

Porritt, who has two children, intends to persuade environmental pressure groups to make population a focus of campaigning.

“Many organizations think it is not part of their business. My mission with the Friends of the Earth and the Greenpeaces of this world is to say: ‘You are betraying the interests of your members by refusing to address population issues and you are doing it for the wrong reasons because you think it is too controversial,” he said.

Porritt, a former chairman of the Green party, says the government must improve family planning, even if it means shifting money from curing illness to increasing contraception and abortion.

He said: “We still have one of the highest rates of teenage pregnancies in Europe and we still have relatively high levels of pregnancies going to birth, often among women who are not convinced they want to become mothers.

###

Publisher's Comments: Who would have thought that children were to be considered "an unbearable burden on the environment"... but, then again, didn't Nancy Pelosi echo the same sentiments regarding our economy only last week?

Prayer Before An Abortion

Posted by Judi Lynn Lake at 02:39 0 comments
This evening my heart is heavy and I am distracted. I try to concentrate on a deadline for work to no avail. My spirit is restless and I need to pray…

Somewhere, at this precise moment in time, a woman is about to have an abortion.

Maybe, just maybe, she doesn’t realize that a child – her child – is about to be murdered right now. Or maybe she does.

What about the doctor? Does he realize he is about to take a child’s life? Or is “it” just a fetus…

My attention is drawn immediately to Him who is the Healer for all:

Lord, Praise be to You now and for always! Thank You for being my Lord! You are my Absolute and my Everything! I believe in You and Trust You; You are the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Lord, as your simple daughter, I humbly beg You to stop this abortion! Lord, Jesus, You said, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Lord, with complete trust in You, I seek, I ask and I knock. You, who can command the sea and wind at will, can do anything, and I beseech you to gently touch the hands and heart of this surgeon right now so that this baby can be saved.

Lord, I lift up both the abortionist and woman to You and ask You to forgive them and free them from any bondage that holds them from Your Truth. Breathe into them Your Divine Spirit of Love and Peace, Lord, so that they may be healed and set free. In Your Most Precious Name, My Sweet Jesus, Thank You and Amen.
